Protein A is a cell wall protein derived from Staphylococcus aureus, which binds to the Fc region of mammalian IgG. Protein A can be used for isolating and purifying IgG, its subclasses, and fragments. Protein A agarose columns are suitable for immunoprecipitation of mouse IgG2a, IgG2b, IgA, human IgG1, IgG2, and IgG4.

Protein G is a cell wall protein derived from Streptococcus group G, which also binds to the Fc region of mammalian IgG. Compared to Protein A agarose, Protein G has a stronger binding affinity for IgG. Protein G agarose is suitable for immunoprecipitation of mouse IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3, rat IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG2c, rabbit, and goat polyclonal antibodies, as well as human IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4.

Protein A/G Affinity Purification Procedures:

We offer ligand affinity chromatography columns based on the antibodies or antigens provided by customers. As shown in Figure 2, the beads can be agarose gel columns or magnetic beads (which can be specified by the customer). The addition of a linker significantly reduces steric hindrance between biomolecules.
