Rabbit Recombinant mAb Production Service

KMD Bioscience has dedicated years to antibody preparation research. Our experienced antibody preparation team possesses mature technical expertise and comprehensive antibody production equipment. We provide premium Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody Preparation Services, covering rabbit, murine, camel, ovine, chicken, and shark sources.

Compared to mouse monoclonal antibodies, rabbit monoclonal antibodies offer higher affinity and recognize more diverse epitopes, making them widely applicable in research, diagnostics, and therapeutics. Leveraging phage display technology, KMD Bioscience has established a Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody Development Platform to provide Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody Preparation Services. Our Phage Display platform enables simultaneous production of a larger number of monoclonal antibodies. With our high-capacity rabbit naive antibody library, the resulting rabbit monoclonal antibodies exhibit superior specificity, high activity, and high affinity. To fulfill diverse client needs, KMD Bioscience offers integrated technical services encompassing antigen design, synthesis and modification, animal immunization, phage library construction and screening, to downstream antibody modification and functional validation.

Preparation of rabbit monoclonal antibodies

The Rabbit Antibody Phage Display Library serves as an excellent source for rabbit polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies. Compared to hybridoma technology, antibodies generated via phage library technology can be preserved as antibody genes in phagemid vectors. By combining the advantages of different protein expression systems—such as cell-free expression systems—animal-free production of highly specific and high-affinity recombinant monoclonal antibodies is achievable. Rabbit monoclonal antibodies demonstrate superior capability in recognizing epitopes shared between rodent and human antigens. This advantage arises from the greater evolutionary distance between rabbits and commonly used rodents (rats, mice), rendering rodent monoclonal antibodies ineffective against shared rodent-human epitopes. Rabbit antibodies effectively recognize these shared epitopes, overcoming a significant obstacle in antibody production.

During phage technology-based recombinant monoclonal antibody preparation, we clone rabbit antibody variable regions (Vλ, Vκ, and VH) into human antibody scaffold monovalent proteins to construct a chimeric antibody library. This strategy avoids the toxicity of Fab antibody fragments to E. coli. Subsequently, the selected rabbit variable regions exhibiting high specificity and affinity are cloned into plasmid vectors carrying rabbit antibody scaffold proteins. Concurrently, our protein recombinant expression platform enables transient expression with yields reaching up to 5 g/L.
